Arkansas Specialty License Plate

Searcy County is about to have its first ever Specialty License Plate! Created by local artist Jamie Craddock of the Buffalo River Art Gallery in Gilbert for the Searcy County nonprofit, the Buffalo River Community Development Corporation!

The Kitchen of the Arkansas Ozarks

The Kitchen of the Arkansas Ozarks is the ideal workspace for food entrepreneurs! Available for lease for $10 per hour, $50 cleaning fee is refundable if the kitchen is properly cleaned! Located in Marshall just off US Hwy 65 at the Searcy County Fairgrounds. 105 Armory Street, Marshall, Arkansas 72650. The Kitchen is a multipurpose Dual Certified Manufacturing and Food Establishment Facility, inspected By the Arkansas Department of Health, to meet the culinary Needs of the Ozark region of north central Arkansas and southern Missouri.

From commercial food production, to putting food by, to catering events, to family events, the kitchen is designed to meet the food production needs of the community.

Leslie Cyber Center

The exciting new Leslie Cyber Center project is made possible by the Forge Institute, which is designed to operationalize the development of capabilities both at a national and state level to lower cyber systemic risks. This project is thanks to a grant written by the Rural Community Alliance! Project collaboration also from the City of Leslie, the Greater Searcy County Chamber of Commerce, and both Leslie American Legion Post 131, and VFW Post 12127!

Targeted start date for a Free 7-week IT/Cyber Fundamentals course is in February. The Department of Labor / Delta Regional Authority grant will also fund the renovation and equipping of a building in Leslie for use in the online classes or for use as a work space in a remote job. The grant also funds a free 14-week Cyber Training Bootcamp! There are 1,400 open cyber security jobs in Arkansas! Solar Project coming to St. Joe!

Today’s Power Inc. of North Little Rock broke ground June 17 on a solar power project in St. Joe to supply 80% of the electricity needs for the Ozark Mountain School District. The 1,600-panel fixed-tilt array will supply a million kilowatt-hours of energy per year for the 700-student district, which comprises three K-12 campuses in north Arkansas: St. Joe, Bruno-Pyatt and Western Grove.
